National Indigenous Peoples Day civic Ceremony

National Indigenous Peoples Day

The sunrise ceremony and civic ceremony will mark this special day. Activities will include singing and drumming with Mohawk elders, the lighting of the sacred fire, and the tobacco ceremony. Ceremonial speeches will be given by community representatives.

Join us in the front of the Montréal Science Centre. 

  • 11:30 am: Mohawk traditional dance, traditional song with the Manitou Singers, giant puppets

    12:00 pm: Parade of native elders

    12:30 pm: Speakers (Sedalia Fazio, Andre Dudemaine, Ray Deer)

    1:45pm: Traditional dance and song with the Manitou Singers

    2:00 pm: End of ceremony
