New Historical Activity at the Old Port!

Come live a unique experience related to the history of Montreal. To the sound of bagpipes, fifes and drums, relive the history of the city to the rhythm of the 18th century by attending our historical demonstrations, including live musket fire, offered by Les Anciennes troupes militaires de Montréal.

Are you a history buffs, a visitors or simply curious, the free historical demonstrations offered by Les Anciennes troupes militaires de Montréal are for you! The historical interpreters, dressed in uniforms of either the Compagnie franche de la Marine or the 78th Fraser Highlanders regiment, will be there to welcome you and answer all your questions. Come and see their blank shooting demonstrations, where you'll see how 18th century soldiers reload a flintlock musket, or see how the various dances and music’s the Scots were doing at that time. One thing is certain, bring your camera! Do not miss the chance to take a picture with our performers or immortalize impressive moments of their demonstrations.

  • From Wednesday to Sunday at 11 AM at the Parc Bonsecours, next to the Grande Roue (Ferris Wheel) de Montréal;

    Saturdays and Sundays, at 2:30 PM, on the small bridge at the pond in the Parc linéaire de la Commune.
