Groupe Copley 2022 World Triathlon Sprint & Relay Championships Montreal

The Montreal Triathlon World Championships are a high performance sporting event that will be held from June 24 to 26 in the heart of The Old Port of Montreal. 

This is the largest international triathlon competition ever held in Quebec, which will welcome athletes from all over the world. This year will mark a spectacular edition for the Groupe Copley World Triathlon as it hosts the World Triathlon Sprint and Relay Championships. 2400 international amateur athletes as well as the world's elite will compete for the title of World Champion.

    Athlete profile

    • Age groups (amateurs) : Athletes who have qualified to represent their country in a qualifying event. Aged between 16 years and approximately 85 years.
    • Junior: The best athletes in the world between the ages of 16 and 19. They have qualified according to the standards issued by the international federation and their national federation.
    • Elite : Best athletes in the world and some participants are Olympic medalists or world champions. They are the best of the best in their sport.

    Competition Distances

    • Age Group and Junior (Sprint Triathlon): 750m swim, 20km bike and 5km run.
    • Elite (Elimination Format): 300m swim, 7.2km bike and 2km run.
    • Mixed Team Relay: 300m swim, 6.6km bike and 1.9km run.
  • Location

    Various locations and streets in Old Montreal including de la Commune Street, McGill Street and the Grand Quai.
